158 image ZEPPELIN ROUND-THE-WORLD FLIGHT / CATAPULT FLIGHT cover w/ combination on a 5¢ US Stationery env w/ mixed franking, US/Germany. The postage is tied by New York machine & hs cancel: July 26, 1929. German postage incl 4m Zeppelin stamp tied by a Friedrichshafen August 15, 1929 cancel. In addition, there is a red catapult flight cachet, a blue registry stamp: 12 [053], a red Zeppelin routing cachet for mail to "Tokio" Friedrichsafen (bodense)-Tokio & a red Zeppelin Round-The-World flight cachet. Only very few of the combinations are known. Similar cover to the one here was from the Werner Helms collection & was sold by auction house in Switz in November 2005 & was sold for $3,600, very scarce item (Image)
