Lot 1428 - B1-B4, 1961 O F-VF Tristan Relief, set of (4) on postcard tied by first day RARE Oct 12, 1961 cancels. These stamps were only on sale for a week w/ only (434) total sets being sold, series of (4) values surcharged on existing stock of Tristan stamps held at Jamestown General Post Office. Tristan decimal (South African Rand) denominations w/ St Helena sterling surcharges 2 1/2c + 3d, 5c +6d, 7 1/2c +9d, 10c + 1 pd, the issue was withdrawn upon instructions from the Colonial Office in Lond.... Our September Auction #354 is another bright spot in our auction history as every section has something special.

Among our 280 cover lots is a U.S. #113c Bisect with 2024 PSE certificate, collections of air covers, Civil War related, military, naval, patriotic, space, topicals, Zeppelins and more.

In the U.S. stamp section there are #3, #4, #139A with a 2024 PSE cert, #293, pair of #467 and many large and small groups.
