Feature Lot.

Lot 96 - 1846 "6 Over Horizontal 6" AU. Great detail w/ faint evidence of an obv cleaning. Mostly white centers w/ some peripheral toning. Overdate is bold. A dramatic error and quite scarce as well. Mega Red states that perhaps several dozen exist in all grades. The 6 in the date was initially punched sideways into the die and then corrected. (Greysheet value is $2,300 in AU50.).... Est. $800-1,200 SE Sold for US$ 975

Coin and Currency Sale 27 - February 16, 2023

Sale #27 contains an exceptionally nice run of high-grade Indian Cents in addition to our usual wide variety of type coins and sets that include, in particular, an 1846 “6 over horizontal 6” Seated Half Dollar in AU grade. Gold offerings are substantial and offer an 1874 $3 Princess, (3) scarce $5 Liberties including an 1871-S NGC XF40, (4) $10 gold including 1845-O PCGS AU50, and 1868 NGC XF40, and (5) $20 Double Eagles, one of which is an 1857-S PCGS XF45. The sale is rounded out by several better Classic Commems, Silver and Gold Eagles, a Gold Buffalo, a 2009 Ultra High Relief St. Gaudens, a .999 fine 1-Ounce gold bar, plenty of 90% silver, nice proof and mint sets and much more.

The auction will begin at 4:30 PM ET on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Live online bidding will be available via Stamp Auction Network. Absentee bids may also be submitted via Stamp Auction Network, phone, email and fax.
