The 2¢ Perry Davis stamps were issued in several colors between September of 1869 and late August of 1882. Only 606,500 were issued on silk paper and in variety of colors include dull purple, slate, dull red, and brown. This stamp is surprisingly overlooked in the Aldrich census.

Huge even margins all around, deep color, Superb, with P.S. certificate declining to opine on whether this is a true imperforate of that perfs have been trimmed from this wide margin single (offered on it's own merits), with 2020 P.F. certificate.

This issue comes with fairly tight margins and it is truly hard to believe that this stamp, with huge margins all around, actually had perforations that were trimmed away.
