The recipient, Luther Halsey Gulick, Sr. was a missionary to the Kingdom of
Hawaii and Micronesia. The sender, Samuel Chenery Damon, was a missionary to Hawaii, pastor of the Seaman's Bethel Church, Chaplin of the Honolulu American Seamen's Friend Society and editor of the monthly newspaper "The Friend". (Image1)
