THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THIS PHOTO ESSAY FOR THE 1910 1¢ REPLY CARD ISSUE.

When the change was made from postal cards produced by private contractors to those produced by the Government Printing Office, it was decided to have a new design portraying George Washington on the message card and Martha Washington on the reply card.

The photo essay offered here (USPCC example 1) is different than the one pictured as example 2 in the USPCC catalog. Example 2 has washing on the vignette and ribbon.
