Cons 20-1866, large margins, tied by "Gavilanes" and "Franco" boxed handstamps (Schatzkes 256) with "Agosto 20 de 1866" date alongside, on folded letter to Durango, enclosure from Hacienda de Pilar that includes a claim for expenses for "guerrilleros" on an expedition from Gavilanes to Huahuapa (including 8 bottles of Mescal at a cost of 4 pesos for 40 men), the addressee Buenaventura J. Saravia had been appointed Prefecto Político Superior del Departamento de Durango (Governor) by Emperor Maximilian. Responsible for keeping peace in this Department of Durango, it appears that his avenue for this was to support the guerrillas, at this time the French were leaving, but had not left, Very Fine.

Cons 88-1866, tied by Guanajuato cds (Schatzkes 477) on 1866 folded letter sheet to Hamm, Prussia, with manuscript "Por el paquete Frances" endorsement at top, octagon "Mexique, 13 Juin, 66" French date stamp and blue crayon "9" rating, reverse with transit date stamps including French packet; stamp with file fold creases and small tear at bottom, otherwise Very Fine, only a handful covers from this issue are known to Germany.
