ONE OF THE FEW NEVER HINGED EXAMPLES OF THE 1908 2¢ IMPERFORATE VERTICAL COIL WITH THE RARE 1¢ FOREIGN ENTRY VARIETY.
This variety was caused when the 1908 1¢ Franklin
die transfer roll was used on one position of plate 5299. The error was caught before use of the plate and the 1¢ entry was burnished out partially leaving traces of the hairs in Franklin's head and "One Cent"in the new 2¢
