A LOVELY EXAMPLE OF THE 1847 5¢ FRANKLIN ISSUE IN THE SCARCE ORANGE BROWN SHADE - MOSTLY LIKELY UNIQUE IN NEVER HINGED CONDITION.

To date, only seven mint original gum examples of the 5¢ orange brown have been certified by the Philatelic Foundation. All but four are in sound condition with this being sole example in never hinged condition

A REMARKABLE NEVER HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 1961 24¢ WASHINGTON ISSUE - WITH APPROXIMATELY A DOZEN EXAMPLES KNOWN IN NEVER HINGED CONDITION.

Although the 24¢ denomination was introduced in 1857, it was not put into use until July 1860. The issue was demonetized only thirteen months later. Toppan Carpenter's typically erratic perforating continued with the 24¢ issue, coupled with the short period of use, are the primary reasons why never hinged examples of the 24¢ 1860 are so difficult to find.
