3025 /o      France, Strong and Impressive Collection. On Postzegel/Steiner hingeless album pages in 6 binders. The first 4 binders are filled with the regular issues to 1998 and the subsequent Mariannes to 2013, including sheets and small panes. It is missing only a handful of early stamps for completion. Earlies are mostly used, but after #137 most are mint and essentially complete. Many minor varieties are included, and condition is much better than typical. There are many thousands of dollars in catalog value on the first few pages alone. Book 5 contains the Semi-Postals and is totally complete (except for B10) up to 1998, all mint after B131. Most later issues after 1984 include full panes/booklets. Book 6 contains Airmails, Postage Dues, Military/Franchise, German occupation, WWII Liberation overprints (290+ on custom pages), and UNESCO and Council of Europe issues. Airs begin with C1, and are complete from C5 (except no C6b) to 2013. Dues are missing only a handful of earlies. The Impressive thing about this collection is the owner's addition of several hundred covers, beginning with 24 stampless chosen for sharp postmarks; then opposite every page in the album from 1 to 4 covers were mounted with matching stamps, some chosen for destinations, multi-frankings, censored, etc. not just routine covers. Fun to examine, enormous catalog value.
Estimate; $6,000 - 8,000.
