2761 o      Prexies! . A collection of 1938 Presidential series stamps, used, in a large stockbook. Starts with a page of singles (all 32 denominations), each with the typical 4-ring target cancel of the period, missing only a few stamps). It is followed by a similar page showing stamps bearing the large mute double oval cancel of the period, then a page for stamps with the numbered oval football-shaped duplex cancels. The next page is for stamps with socked-on-the-nose town cancels, followed by pages for all denominations possible in used blocks of 4, and then pages for them in used plate blocks. Then comes a separate page for all 32 denominations, with as many types of cancels as possible. Pages for lower denominations are full of registered, parcel post, town names, colors, Expositions, stars, a few fancies (Hammer, S.D.) etc. Neat display done 50 years ago by a Prexie fanatic, difficult to repeat today.
