Selection of seventy five covers, most are stampless but several are stamped with various adhesives, there is also a group which are from Germany with a wide range of origins and destination, a very diverse selection of various ship markings as well as "paid" and other transit markings, there are many N. York Am. Pkt Paid with integral rate markings from 3¢ to 46¢, there are cover from Hamburg, North German Federation and Prussia, two covers franked with 1¢ & 6¢ Banknotes paying the 7¢ rate in 1874, a fascinating group which need further study, many of the covers have detailed descriptions, condition is mixed, please inspect.

2563       Trans-Atlantic Ship Covers to England, 1835-1870. Several hundred covers both coming and going to and from England as well as Ireland and Scotland, from many cities and towns mostly on the east coast: a very large variety of rates and markings, carried on a good number of ships from various lines; included are 1822 cover from Trinidad to London with stepped "Deal Ship Letter" hand stamp, 1842 cover from Philadelphia to London with two line "Bristol Ship Letter", 1845 cover with Richmond Va. cds with matching large numeral "10" addressed to London, 1845 cover from Derry to New York with "Boxed Paid at Derry" in red, 1846 cover to London with "Returned Paid Letter" printed at top as well as "Dead Letter Office" below, 1850 cover from Clinton Ms. to London with red Roman numeral "L" in circle, 1852 cover from Liverpool to Philadelphia with blue numeral "6" in hexagon, 1856 cover from Glasgow to New York with boxed "Glasgow Paid" date stamp, 1858 cover from Glasgow to Fairfield Me., 1858 cover from Lacrosse, Wis. to London with small blue paid in circle with manuscript "24", plus many, many more, a valuable lot for the specialist, please inspect.

2564       Transatlantic Mail Collection, 1840-1857. A selection of over 90 covers or letter sheets housed in two 3 ring binders, many of the covers are Ex Richard Winter and are on his exhibit pages, in each case the Treaty it was under, the ship it was carried on, the company that carried the Mail, the arrival and departure dates and the postal rates are all identified for each cover, a very interesting study with many better items, please inspect.
