Provisional manuscript district diagonally reading upward left to right, tied by "Zacatecas, Noviembre 19" boxed date stamp (Schatzkes 1851) on 1858 docketed folded letter sheet to Guadalajara; stamp with margin tears from horizontal file fold, Very Fine appearance, a rare usage during the transition of the Zacatecas Postmaster move to Aguascalientes.

During the Civil War, from November 3, 1858 to November 30, 1858, the Zacatecas Postmaster moved to Aguascalientes, Sub-Office of the District, and due to the fact that handstamp device was lost, the Postmaster overprinted the stamps by hand, giving origin to the Zacatecas Manuscripts.

1498     5d imageMexico, 1856, First Issue, 8r red lilac, quadrisect, Durango. Upper right portion of stamp with part of district overprint. Tied by straight line Papasquiraro handstamp (Schatzkes 280) on 1858 folded letter to Durango, Very Fine, a very scarce quadrisect usage from Durango.

This quadrisect appears much smaller than most, but the correct rate from Papasquiraro to Durango was 2 reales (43 leagues distance), assuring that this is not an octosect usage.
