Great Britain, 1881-87, Queen Victoria Jubilee, 11 values, ½d-10d including the 5d Die I. According to the accompanying Robson Lowe certificate, these stamps "came from a damaged
copy of the 1884 Stamp Committee Presentation Book," which was broken up and sold by the Lowe firm in September 1948. Then, in May 1972, they offered the set again on behalf of the previous buyer's estate. It is noted that, as with "other copies of
the Book, the stamps were separated with scissors.", little to no gum, as always; one pulled perf on the 9d, otherwise fresh and F.-V.F., with 1972 Robson Lowe certificate. SG No. 172//211 vars. Scott No. 88, 111-117, 118a, 119-121 vars;

Dr. Eckerlin was director of Herbst & Illig of Frankfort-am-Main, Germany. In 1928, Dr. Eckerlin contacted Treadway of ABN for purposes of promoting a proprietary rotary intaglio printing process that was faster and cheaper than steel
