2666 ()    294-299 image1901, Pan-Americans complete on First Day cover front. Tied by light registry ovals with purple "Sub-Sta. No. 37, Wash. D.C., Registered, May 1, 1901" double-circle datestamp on an apparent cover to Munich, Germany; New York registry label (No. 19449); central vertical file fold and back of envelope skillfully added (hence no German receiver or other transit markings), lovely Extremely Fine appearance, a handsome example of a very rare First Day Cover.

There are now a total of eight similar used from Washington D.C. having the same stamp configuration with New York registry exchange label numbers in the range (19447, 19449, 19452, 19457, 19458, 19465, 19468, 19474), including six to Germany, one to Finland and one to Switzerland.
