Wm. Harrison enlisted in Co, 5, Georgia State Troops on 10/16/61, discharged 3/13/62 and later re-enlisting in Co. F, 32nd Geo. Inf. on 8/25/62 serving throughout the war and surrendering with his unit on 4/26/65.

Carolina, manuscript free frank of Wm. W. Boyce, M.C. (Member of Congress); cover trimmed & refolded, F.-V.F., with 2005 C.S.A. certificate.

Cover from a Member of Congress, Wm. W. Boyce, M.C. with member's frank to allow letter to be sent postage due under terms set forth in the Act of July 30, 1861, Chapter II, Section 3

Congressmen were permitted to send letters without prepayment of postage, which was to be paid by the recipient. Such letters were endorsed by the congressman. This privilege was not widely used, as congressmen were reluctant to have their constituents pay to receive their letters.

Large collection of over 90 covers in two binders with a wide variety of South Carolina postmarks, most are stampless cover with manuscript or handstamps postmarks, both "Paid" and "Dues" covers are present, some covers with adhesives are also noted, a few covers are turned usages and a couple covers have the original enclosure, also included is a few used during the U.S. Rate Period, many scarce and hard to find towns are present, condition is mixed, but generally Fine-Very Fine.
Estimate; $5,000 - 7,500.

THIS IS AN OUTSTANDING COLLECTION AND WOULD TAKE A LIFETIME TO DUPLICATE.
