The "Mohican" assisted the short lived Bering Sea Squadron in anti-poaching operations by protecting the sealing plants and fisheries from trouble. She remained in northern waters until 19 October 1892.

Ornate boxed corner card on orange cover to Kingsboro, NY, franked with 1861 3¢ Rose (65) tied by target with partial Cairo, Ill cds alongside, minor defect in upper right corner which affects stamp, included is original enclosure datelined "On Board Steamer Mollie Able, Jany 14th 1865", plus 1865 illustrated printed freight bill in red, Very Fine, this may well be the only known example.
