LotNo. Symbol CatNo. Lot Description
1261     MHR-BF-1 imageHawaii, McCabe, Hamilton & Renny, Stevedoring, Honolulu. Blue flap imprint on cover to San Francisco Cal. bearing 1896, 2¢-25¢ Officials complete (O1-O6), tied by multiple strikes of "Honolulu, H.I., Jun. 13, 10AM, 1900" duplex datestamp (the last day before Hawaiian stamps were invalidated), San Francisco (6.20) receiving backstamp; edge tears and some wear, 10¢ stamp light crease and slightly affected from placement at edge, F.-V.F., ex-Aall & Twigg-Smith.
Peters-Uota No. MHR-BF-1; Estimate $2,000 - 3,000.

A RARE ADVERTISING IMPRINT COVER BEARING A COMPLETE SET OF THE 1896 OFFICIAL STAMPS.

All of the few known covers with a complete set of the 1896 Officials are philatelically inspired. However, covers with the regular Honolulu postmark are rarer and considered more desirable than covers with the "Foreign Office" favor cancel. This cover was mailed on the last day Hawaiian stamps were valid.
