1782 /o/      German Area, Collection. Extensive range of issues covering nearly every German area, housed in 34 stockbooks, 8 binders and three albums, collection in a stock-like format with issues normally in minor to slightly heavy duplication at times; includes German States sparse in some with strength in Bavaria including a 4 margin #1 plate 1 (crease, with cert), later paper varieties in coat of arms issues, etc., good Thurn & Taxis issues including several on cover usages, Empire & Reich issues starting with 1872 small & large shield mostly used with some better high values with Scott #11 x2 used however lack the better later, later Empire and Reich issues predominately used with a nice range of cancels high value definitives present mostly in modest to moderate duplication, includes a specialized study of Germania issues housed in three albums and includes with various overprints, printings, shades, etc., through to inflationary including multiples, nice range of back-of-the-book issues including airmail with some Zepps, semi-postals lacking the better early sheets, a small exhibit collection of Allied Occupation issues including covers, good sections of Berlin & DDR, other sections including WWI & WWII occupationals, Saar & Danzig, post WWII local issues, Offices & Colonies, perfin study, some currency and selection of mostly useful covers; a nice foundational collection and study ideal for further continuation.

1785       German Area, Mint Never Hinged Collection. Selection of hundreds of mint never hinged sets neatly arranged and housed in five stockbooks, with good runs and sets starting with later Reich issues with strength in semi-postal sets and sheets including 1930 Iposta sheet, 1933 Nothlife overprint sheet, a nice 1935 Ostropa sheet (gum removed), all Olympic & Hitler sheet present, some airmail, later issues with 1949 Hannover sheet. lots of Republic and DDR issues to 1980's, German Occupation of France with 1941 Légion Volontaires Français F+100f Souvenir Sheet, other WII occupationals including Bohemia & Moravia, Poland Generalgouvernement, Croatia with Stormtrooper singles (B73-75), etc.; nice fresh material throughout, worth review.

Regular issues mounted and identified on quadrille pages in four binders with the various plate represented in QV issues; starting predominately used QV issues including five 1840 1d black singles followed by various imperf and early perf'd issues with better including watermark inverted variety, 1864 1d plates lacking 77 & 225 for completion, 1870 ½ plates complete including a lightly canceled well centered plate 9 (48, cat £700), mint 1850 ½d from plate 1 (52, short corner perf, cat ¢725), 1848 10d embossed with wide sheet margin (57, £1,500) with RPSL cert, lovely light canceled 1856 4d medium garter (63, £575), 1865 4d vermilion plate complete and later plate completion with some 1880's mint, lovely 1867 5sh (126, £675), 1883-84 high values lacking the £1 three orbs, 1902 KEVII definitive lacking 10sh for completion, good KGV issues with some shades, good showing of Seahorse with later mint, virtually all mint from 1936 on including 1939-48 KGV set, mint completion in QEII issues including both Castle sets and all other definitives & commemorative appear to be present, includes regionals and additional booklets and FDC's; condition varies with many nice sound better stamps in early issues, inspection recommended for full evaluation.
