Mostly mint collection in a well-filled 1950s Japanese made album, arranged in sections with commemoratives 1894-1956, Park sets and souvenir sheets 1936-55, post-war Philatelic Week and Show souvenir sheets, New Year with/Lottery souvenir sheets 1950-56, also present are many definitives, semi-postals and airs of the period mint and used, mint highlights including Scott #378a s/s, 422-23 (Beauty plus s/s), 438, 457, 479 (Moon and Geese), 480-97 (Famous Men), 508b (Athletic Block), 517, 517a, 519, 519a, 523-40 (Scenic Spots), 580a booklet pane, Park s/s with folders (1938-41, 1949-55), C9-13, C27-42 etc., also #385 used, a small mint collection of Ryukyus 1948-56 is at the end of the album, an additional similar album with mostly used duplicates accompanies the main collection, owner's Scott $7000+, generally Fine to Very Fine.

3394 /o/      Japan, Collection, 1894-1982. Predominately mint neatly presented in hingeless mounts housed in four White Ace albums in slipcases and additional in stockbook; starting with some early used classics some needing to be checked, with mint starting with 1894 Wedding and 1896 War issues complete, #108-112, strong 1910-20's issues including 10s Heir Apparent used, virtually complete in later issues (some occasional used) including complete parks with sheets and folders, 1936 Anniversary set, 1947 Expo sheet and all later sheets present including 1948 Philatelic Week & 1949 Children's Expo sheet, 1949-52 Culture set complete, etc., airmails strong but lacking the 1929 sheet, in addition there are multicolored post cards including 1906 Military Review issues cards and run to the 1920's, and later issues with cachets FDC's; nice fresh material throughout, owner's 2021 cat $11,404 (with detailed inventory) and doesn't seem to account for material in stockbook and postal history items, meticulously presented and a nice collection for continuation.

3397 /o      Japan, Revenue Collection, 1872-1949. */o Japan revenue collection, 1872-1949, exhibition collection with a meticulous study on perforation varieties, chronologically organized as well as being separately categorized, including Mihons, set of 11 of the scarce Medicines with 10 copies with 1883 band style from the 1 rin to the 10 sen, imperf Medicines, Silkworms Eggs, Documentaries from 1873 imperf onwards including scarce roulettes, as well as foreign papers, etc., Tobacco duty including set of 14 1883 imperf, Registration Taxes with Mihons with the 2 sen, 5, 10, 50, 1 yen and high value 5 yen, Justice issues, basic revenues, with thin and medium papers, all kinds of shades, right through to the earthquake series of the 1920s followed by the post WW2 Showa series and the Trade Tax perf and imperf series, telegraph stamps from 1885 onwards, telegraph seals, post seals, cash registered mail, tax on matches, national pensions, health insurance, motor cars registration, unemployment insurance, food products certificates, etc, far superior to that which is normally encountered.

3409       Mexico, Unauthorized Reprints and Color Errors of the 1856 & 1861 Issue. Unusual selection of 75 stamps reveals the array of color errors, rarely seen on the 1856 and 1861 issue reprints, arranged in clear mounting to allow the back of the stamps to be easily seen, as to the variety of papers used and opaque features, although reprints are not uncommon color errors of these are quite unusual.

3410   Mexico, 1856-61, Spiro Bros. Counterfeit Sheets. Stuart type IX counterfeits were lithograph printed in sheets of twenty five on wove paper, the 1856 sheet set contains the values of ½ to 4 Reales as the 8 Reales denomination does not exist, the 1861 set contains five valuations as the the ½ Real and 4 Real on black and yellow are nonexistent, the main difference from genuine on these are the very thin letters "J, I, C" in MEXICO and the open "C" in Correos, type IX Sheets are infrequently seen in complete sets.
