ONE, IF NOT THE FINEST KNOWN EXAMPLE OF THE 1887 ½ PENCE JUBILEE ISSUE WITH THE OGILVIE & MOORE UNDERPRINT.

A recent discovery of this underprint which is currently recorded only on the 1881 1d lilac and is to be included in the next S.G. Specialized Vol. 1 catalogue (tentative underprint #PP147A). It is believed that only two singles (this example and one offered in the Redcentre collection) and a block of four may be the only examples that exist. The other single and block are off centered with the design into the perfs at the sides.
