The George J. Kramer Collection of Western Trails and Routes - April 27, 2018

This specialized auction has a total of 417 lots with an outstanding array of Western and Territorial postal history collected over a 40 year period, many of which have graced George's award-winning exhibits. The highlight of the auction is the extraordinary triple mixed franking Hawaiian 5¢ on a California Penny Post cover with U.S. 3¢ 1851 Issue franking. The express usages are headlined by the unique Berford & Co.'s Express three-value usage, Langston's Humboldt 25¢ express stamp use, Peterson's Lower California Express label use, the unique Wells Fargo & Co. first day cover, and a "Snowshoe" Thompson Express usage. Many wonderful state and territory usages are present, including an 1850 "Salt Lake Deseret" manuscript use with interesting Mormon content, etc. Visit our website for more information.
