Venezuela, 1871-78 First Escuelas Transfer Type Collection. An amazing 30 year collection in 5 volumes put together by one of the co-authors of "VENEZUELA "ESCUELAS" 1871-1878 V Printing
(1874)" (and VIII Printing (1877))", the collection comprises some 1661 stamps with many blocks from 465 of the possible 550 transfer types of the lithographic stones of the 9 printings of the 15 different values, this
is a specialized collection for the specialist and no reference is made to the Scott catalogue which only lists the general types (Scott#22-36) and not the 9 printings which are recognized by collectors of this issue, all stamps are
identified by transfer type based on the original work by Messrs Hall and Fulcher in 1924 in "The London Philatelist" and later published in book form with 170 pages under the title of "The Postage Stamps of Venezuela" (a labor of
love but the owner is getting older!!), illustrated is a selection of the green higher values, an opportunity not to be missed. Estimate; $7,500 - 10,000.
