 John Olday 1964
series of privately produced artists cards being monochrome cartoons reflecting on his life of political activism, social/sexual mores, medical practices etc, all with hand-written inscriptions & initialled 'JO', superb unused; plus 2 flyers for his
exhibition at Adelaide's Royal Admiral Hotel (one with his Sydney houseboat address added on the reverse) & the original plain manila envelope. Insightful, sardonic, poignant & often hilarious. Arthur William (John) Olday was an artist & anarchist
who was active in Europe during the 1930s & a member of the German anti-Nazi underground. He migrated to Australia in 1950 but returned to Europe in the late 1960s. He held many exhibitions but never sold any of his works. (37 in 3 duplicates). (Image1) (Image2)
