2			1847 1D RED PL.75 WITH THE 'LK UNION JACK' MAJOR RE-ENTRY (SG8/SPEC BS64a). Fine used 1847 1d red pl.75 (SG8) lettered LK, four close to fine margins and clearly showing the UNION JACK MAJOR RE-ENTRY (SG8/Spec BS64a). Cancelled '75' numeral of Birmingham with re-entry marks clearly visible in upper squares and postage. Fine example of this superb re-entry. 3			1841 MAIL LANGPORT, SOMS TO TIVERTON WITH 1D RED PL.2 (SG7)(BA). Fine letter from Langport to a solicitor in Tiverton dated 30th Nov 1841 with fine to very fine 1d red pl.2 (SG7) lettered BA, fine four margins and cancelled very fine strike black Maltese cross, whilst not tied it clearly belongs when viewed from reverse. On front fine strike 'LANGPORT/140' mileage mark in black (SO591) and on reverse 'TIVERTON' date stamp DE 1 1841. 5			1841 MAIL LONDON TO DEAL WITH RARE COMBINATION OF 1D REDS PLATE 1B AND 5 (SG7). Letter, some creasing and staining from Southwark in London to Deal in Kent with 1d red pl.1b (SG7) x 3 lettered AE, AK and DA, AE very close/touching NW square but showing double 'E' at foot (Spec AS7f), AK touched NW square, DA touched two places, also fine used 1d red from plate five (SG7) lettered NL, four margins, all tied fine strikes black Maltese cross. On reverse London date stamp 14 MY 1841 and 'DEAL' date stamp MY 15 1841. The examples from plate 1b all show 7 and 10 o'clock ray flaws . Without the 'O' flaw following plate repair, also base of 'G' square partly double and basal indentation under 'ON' of one. Transfer roller line in right margin from repair of 'GD'. Stamp shows RE-ENTRY MARKS IN 'G' OF POSTAGE, 'O' OF ONE AND 'C' OF PENCE. Few constant varieties are found of the 1840 2d blues and the re-entries are not so prominent as seen on blacks and reds. A fine wrapper from Shifnal in Shropshire 'To The Right Honourable John Leveson Gower att Leicester houfe, London' charged '1/4'?, on reverse fine to very fine strike of the very rare 'SHEFFNALL' straight line hand stamp in black (SH491) and London Bishop mark '27/FE'. Whilst undated the 'SHEFFNALL' hand stamp is only recorded 1708-1713 and all British provincial hand stamps pre 1740 are very rare and very sought after.
