921 image1879 unadopted pencil drawing on thick paper (114mm x 160mm) submitted for approval by Thomas De La Rue on 2nd August 1879. One Penny QV head design (right facing portrait) in pencil 46mm x 54mm, with pencil annotation purchased from the collection of Maurice Burrus Feb 1959. Just after Burrus's death. Attractive unadopted essay.
