968 image1850 A large letter sent to the Officer Commanding, Royal Artillery in Ireland, being handwritten copy of several letters advising the Commanding officers to dissuade the soldier's from buying Loan Bills that are worthless and soldier's applying for debtors relief under the act, with persuading officers under their command from pursuing the ruinous practices issued by the Ajutant General's office Woolwich, also copied to House Guards, To remedy the disgraceful position of officers as to Bill transactions......organized number of persons or gang who wait on the officers in the barracks to tempt them and obtain bills and pass them to one to another. Bearing 1841 1d red cancelled '2' numeral cancel and blue Woolwich h/s. Interesting insight.
