462 c World Wide Commercial Cover World Wide Commercial Cover, Collection of over (250), from (20) different countries and almost all to a couple of companies in Houston, Texas; incls Germany, France, Japan (incl II-part envelopes), Brazil, Belgium, Italy, Great Britain (almost all the same franking), Spain, Netherlands for the majority of covers and a few (1, 2 & 3) from Poland, Norway, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Peru, Canada, etc. Generally, dating in the late 1940's (47-48) w/many of the same stamps for franking. Most are in rough to good condition. It appears most have to do with the cotton business. Most of the Germany are with the Buildings Issue and not checked if any errors exist. 466 - Texas Postal History Lot Texas Postal History Lot, 1885//1936, consisting of (9) covers and (3) letters; most covers (5) are State of Texas Advertising and (1) private ad mimicing the state covers (very interesting). The State covers are for the Texas Supreme Court, Dept. of Education and General Land Office. The 1927 letter is by Rev. T.O. Perrin to a friend in Philadelphia and mentions the Texas Rangers mission to "clean up" Borger, Tx and also a red pmk (probably magenta) of Stinnet, Tx (cover included). The 1933 letter is a fund raising letter by the trustee (C.N. Bartholomew) for Texas Day at the 1933 Chicago World's Fair; included is a Texas Day Official cover pmk'd Aug 23, 1933 with a FAIR Agenda enclosed, and last is 1936 letter concerning the Texas Centennial year celebration and the effort to create a SAN JACINTO DAY cachet

470 -   Rowland Hill (1772-1842), March 25, 1833 handwritten 2-page letter regarding the trial in Limerick, Ireland of the trial of Private George Graham of the 64th Foot Regt. who was found guilty of desertion on the 22nd. Letter notes that Graham will serve a life sentence in New South Wales. Hill was Commander-in-Chief of the Forces 1828-42, Gov. of Plymouth 1830-42 and made 1st Viscount of Almaraz in 1842. Morgan shaking hands with General Devers with General Eakers looking on.
