Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 835 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike.
UNITED STATES, There are (70) U.S. lots offered, with several great Classics and 1869 Pictorials; a few interesting Columbian lots, including an attractive $4.00; late 19th Century issues and a few Banknotes. There are various turn-of-the century
issues, Washington/Franklins and 1920's issues; and a few Modern issues.
COVERS, There is a selection (6) of Commercial covers, including C14 and "baby ZEP" (C18) flight covers and (28) First Day cover lots with FDC's for the Presidential series and famous Americans series. (short sets with different cachet makers).
AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, There are (17) lots; an interesting mix of Air Post, Newspapers, Officials, Revenues, a nice selection of Shanghai overprints and a couple private vending, with one being a Schermack 534B on piece; nice lot.
ERRORS, FREAKS, AND ODDITIES, There are (4) lots; some Overrun Countries with reverse printing and the Korea "KORPA" plate flaw.
AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, There are (15) lots offered, with (3) Autograph lots - one being a Bobby Orr signed card; and (12) Exposition and memorabilia lots.
GENERAL FOREIGN, COLLECTIONS, There are about (139) lots to consider. You'll find a few notable U.S. collections, as well as very nice Australia and Greece collections. Topical collections include Beatles, Religion and King George VI coronation
omnibus collections.
DUCK STAMPS & PRINTS, Contains (310) lots with some FDC's, Federal Artist winners signed correspondence and Souvenir Ccards; a nice selection of Junior Duck stamps and Federal plate number singles, about (70) Federals from which to choose. Also,
there are several Federal Errors, Artist Signed Federal stamps (22) and Artist Signed State stamps (3). Also, State Duck singles and errors, Governor's Editions (great selection of unsigned and signed), and Conservation/Fishing stamps. Finishing up
the sale, are (6) Federal Duck prints, that includes an RW38 hand-colored by Maynard, his wife or his son, (15) State Duck prints, and four Conservation prints.
