Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 605 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike.
UNITED STATES, There are (178) U.S. lots offered, with about (50) Classics and late 19th Century issues, and (10) Columbian lots. There are (21) various turn-of-the century issues. Washington/Franklins and 1920's issues have about 60 lots; and
there are (38) modern issues (1930 - current) including (18) graded issues, with three being GEM 100's! Highlights include: Lot 10 - no.75 - 5¢ RED BROWN, RG, and Lot 24 - no. 120 - 24¢ GREEN AND VIOLET unused.
COVERS, There is a selection of covers (37); (11) Commercial and (26) First Day. Lot 190 is very interesting: 1¢-5¢ 1937 Army/Navy Issues on 2nd Day Cover. Also, there are (5) First Day Ceremony program lots.
AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, There are (9) lots; an interesting mix of air post, postal insurance, officials, stationary, revenue and others.
ERRORS, FREAKS, AND ODDITIES, There are (2) lots; one misperf lot and one postal envelope with an offset image.
AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, There are (36) lots offered, with (27) Autograph lots, of which (9) are sports figures with (7) being football players.
GENERAL FOREIGN, COLLECTIONS, There are (163) lots to consider with a nice selection of Canadian issues. Highlights are in collections: (1) an Australian pre-decimal collection of about (400) stamps; a Brazilian mint collection of 1964 to 1974
issues; and (2) Greece collections, one from 1944 to 1978 and the second from 1979 to 2000 mint.
DUCK STAMPS & PRINTS, Contains (176) lots with (6) FDC's and collections; (49) lots of Federals from which to pick and about (11) Plate Number Singles to select from; and a couple of Federal errors. There are Artist Signed Federal Stamps (22).
The (16) lots of State Duck stamps category consists of singles and errors. There are nearly (23) Governor's Editions and Non-authorized Governor Editions - many hand-signed. Finishing up the sale, you'll find a selection of (7) Federal Duck
prints, and (1) State Duck print. Highlights include an RW7 print by F.L. Jacques (deceased), extremely scarce edition of only 30.
