Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, November 06, 2024 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 563 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike. A few of the highlights include the following:

  • Lot 8 - Scott no.115, 6¢ Ultramarine, Fine RG

  • Lot 10 - Scott no. 119,15¢ BROWN AND BLUE, TY II, Fine-Avg OG/HR, just touches at bottom, deep, rich color

  • Lot 35 - Scott no. 313, $5.00 Dark Green, Fine

  • Lot 393 - Scott no. RW72b, 2005 MINI-SHEET, signed by artist Mark Anderson at bottom, only 1,000 prepared, F-VF NH

  • Lot 532 - Scott. no. RW13 1946 FEDERAL DUCK PRINT, FIRST EDITION,B^ sba Bob Hines (deceased), without stamp, nfai, edition size estimates under 300, Redhead Ducks.

  • UNITED STATES, There are (53) U.S. lots offered, includes a nice assortment of Classic issues. There are some Banknotes and Bureau issues; including a gorgeous $5 Dark Green John Marshall Scott #278; a few Columbian issues, and Washington/Franklins. The rest are a mixture of 1922 Regular and Modern issues.
  • COVERS, There are (2) outstanding items in our Covers section; (1) 5¢ BLACKISH BROWN, four mgns, tied to folded letter with red "NEW YORK/AUG/30" (Scott 1a); and the other a C18 50¢ GRAF ZEPPELIN FDC/FFC.

  • AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, This section contains (19) lots, of which two are Air Post. The others are a mix of Special Delivery, Officials and Souvenir pages.

  • U.S. POSSESSIONS, There are (4) lots: Confederate States (CSA4 and 6), Danish West Indies #5e and Ryukyu #14.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, There are about (200) lots to consider, with some excellent Peoples Republic of China (PRC) sets from the 1960's-70's. A number of collections from a variety of countries offering new collecting opportunities; and several interesting Topical collections. Many Canadian classics are also offered; as well as selections of France, Germany, Great Britain and other countries.

  • CINDERELLAS & MISCELLANEOUS, There are (7) items offered, including 1876 International Exposition tickets.

  • DUCK AND CONSERVATION STAMPS & PRINTS, Contains about (254) lots, with Federals; (singles, plate blocks and plate number singles) along with Mini-sheets, including the scarce RW72b, Remarques, EFO's, and artist signed stamps. The State Duck stamps category consists of singles, Governor's Editions (25) lots - several hand signed, and (25) unofficial Governor signed state stamps.
