Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 665 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike. A few of the highlights include the following:

  • UNITED STATES, There are (132) U.S. lots offered, includes an assortment of Classics, Grilled Issues, Banknotes, Columbians, and Washington/Franklins. The rest are a mixture 1922 Regular Issues, Kansas-Nebraska Overprints, and 1930 to date.
  • COVERS, There are (3) Cover lots, including one from the U.S. Pioneer Flight #18 on 2¢ Carmine #U411c. Also, there are (10) First Day Cover lots. with mixed cachets.

  • AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, This section contains (32) lots; with a few graded later Airmails. There is an exceptionally nice J76 50¢ Carmine, and a nice selection of (6) State Revenues.

  • ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, (8) Lots, including two lots of U481b Color Errors.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, There are about (231) lots to consider, including some excellent lots from Canada, Falkland Islands, France 2 on cover, France J23 seldom seen, Germany-Berlin and Berlin Overprints, and a New Zealand 33bvar Imperforate Error. There are also several very nice Foreign Country Lots from Armenia, Australia, Bahamas, Brazil, British Asia, British East Caribbean, Greece, Iran and Russia.

  • AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, There are (17) Autographs, including Rudolf Friml, composer of musicals and a Political remnant lot of (12) autographs.

  • DUCK AND CONSERVATION STAMPS & PRINTS, contains about (203) lots, with a mix of Junior, Federals, Federal Remarques, State and State Remarques - including a special group of Arizona duck stamps with remarques by Sherrie Russell Meline, Artist Signed stamps, Duck stamp EFO's, and Governor's Editions, including a RARE RI1 Governor's Edition Contingency Sheet of 30 issued without a serial no. Also, a small selection of Conservation and Fishing stamps. Rounding out the popular duck stamp categories, are (3) highly sought after early Federal Duck stamp prints, including the very scarce RW7 Second Edition, RW39 First Edition, and RW40 First Edition. There are (7) State duck prints, mostly First of State, and (2) Texas Saltwater Fishing prints.
