Internet, Mail, and Phone Auction 3092 - May 11, 2022

Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 637 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike. A few of the highlights include the following:

  • UNITED STATES, There are (141) U.S. lots with several nice Classics and Pictorials highlighted by a used no. 84 with certificate and no.120, unused with no gum. Also, there are several Banknote issues (19) about 1/3 unused, a 50¢ Columbian NH and a few (14) Exposition and 1890s Regular issues. There are a few lots (55) of Washington/Franklins and late1920s issues which includes 579 Plate Block of 4, 599b, 599A and 634A. You can also find a nice variety of Graded 1930 to Date (20), with PSE certificates.
  • COVERS, There are (80) Cover lots - an interesting selection of (21) Commercial and (59) First Day Covers that includes Special Delivery issues on cover; E7 and E10 on commercial and E14,15 and 16 on First Day covers. Also, there are (27) covers, most FDC, with Captain Crosby photo cachets including the $1 and $2 Prexies on FDC. Additionally, a cover is offered franked with Scott C2 and posted on the first day of U.S, airmail service; a crash cover and a couple of Crosby naval covers.

  • AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, Contains (56) lots of Airmails (5) and Back of Book issues (51); including several nice Official lots, and an unused copy of PR6 newspaper stamp. Also, (18) lots of interesting and scarce test stamps, booklets and demonstration stamps.

  • ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, (24) Lots of EFO's are offered. A variety of mis-perfs, different shades and color shifts, under inking, etc. Great selection that includes several multi-stamp lots.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, includes (136) lots; (91) from (34) different countries; Argentina, Newfoundland, Canada, Peoples Republic of China, Falklands, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, and on to Turkey. There are (9) U.S. collections, (21) Foreign Country lots with must see Argentina, Mexico and Netherlands collections. Also, in our collections, you'll find a couple Norman Rockwell Collections and a "Penny Black" Sesquicentennial collection.

  • AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, There are (18) lots with signatures notable in various fields, e.g., Lloyd Bridges, Greta Garbo in Entertainment; Rudolph Friml and "Wee Willie" Harris in music; and John Gronouski and Herbert Kalmbach in Politics.

  • DUCK AND CONSERVATION STAMPS, PRINTS (Federal, Junior and State) contains about (179) lots. There are (3) each of Collections and Junior Duck stamp lots to consider and (33) Duck Stamp Plate Number Single lots. We hope you find the one to complete your collection! There are (67) Federal lots with singles, plate blocks and a few graded issues. You'll find a couple Mini-sheets; RW74b and RW78b, both Graded with PSE certificates. There are (9) Error lots this auction, mostly shifted colors. For the Press sheet collector, we have a selection of (5) lots of various configurations, including a scarce RW72/72c cross gutter block of 16. Also, we have (8) Artist Signed Federal stamps to help fill out your signature collection. A small variety of State duck stamps (42), Governor's Editions (33), and (5) Conservation and Indian Reservation lots. To finish the sale, you will find (1) Federal and (13) State Duck Prints; with RW51 50th Anniversary Issue in frame and (5) First of State comprised of Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Ohio, and Utah along with First of Nation for Argentina.
