Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday June 30, 2021
at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 500 lots, with material in all
price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike. A
few of the highlights include the following:
UNITED STATES, There are about (60) U.S. lots, with some nice classics,
including a no. 1, several no. 7's and 9's and a Deep Orange Brown copy of
no. 10A with gorgeous color. There are a few nice Pictorials, several
Banknotes, and several Columbians, including a 2¢ Broken Hat variety. The
U.S. material closes with about 1/2 dozen each of Washington/Franklins and
Modern issues.
COVERS, There are (18) Cover lots; (3) Commercial and (15) First Day
Covers, from which to choose.
AIRMAIL AND BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, contains over (18) lots of Airmails
and Back of Book issues, with several nice First issue Air Post and an
interesting computer vended variety.
ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, only one lot made it into this auction; an
840variety 1½¢ Bister Brown, Coil Line Strip of 5 (2).
GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, about (25) lots with a variety of
countries e.g. Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, and Spanish Andorra,
to name a few. There is a nice variety of U.S. collections, including a
U.S. Remainder collection on Scott National album pages and a Limited
Edition of (200) Event Covers. You'll also find several Foreign Country
lots, featuring the Bahamas, People's Republic of China, Greece, Indonesia
and Ryukyu Islands. There is also a very nice World Wide American
Bicentennial Collection waiting for the right owner!
AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, There are (8) Autographs, including a
signed music sheet from Rudolf Friml. Also, a set of Cinderellas - "Army
Frank" stamps from the Spanish-American War, and a few odds and ends,
including a bronze medal for the Battle of the Alamo.
DUCK STAMPS AND CONSERVATION STAMPS (Federal, Junior and State)
contains about (300) lots, which includes (6) lots of Souvenir Cards, and
(19) Federal and State FDC's. There is an RW2//70 duck collection, (5)
Junior Duck stamps, and a selection of (25) Federal Plate Number Singles,
(99) Federal Duck singles and Plate Blocks; (13) Mini-sheets and Press
Sheet pieces, (28) Duck Errors, and about (40) Federal and State Artist
Signed. A selection of (41) State Duck stamps and just (1) Governor's
Edition lot (Rhode Island 1st of state hand-signed by Governor Edward
DiPrete). There are (18) Conservation and Fishing items. The sale ends with
a selection of (13) Prints; (3) Federal, and (10) State and Conservation
Prints, and an original pencil drawing by duck author C.R. Pendl. A nice
selection of prints from which to choose!
