22 booklet , verygood   imageFirst issue 1929, Cat Bale: A.3a, dummy booklet. The booklet contains all pans of advertisements and blank perforated panes. There are some separations of the leaves, and some of the blank stamp pages are stuck onto the advertisement pans. Catalog value $3,000. Very scarce. Dummy booklets, produced without actual stamps but with interleaving, served as promotional tools distributed to advertisers, post offices, and other relevant entities. They are esteemed for their excellent condition and rarity, offering insight into historical advertising and distribution methods. The cover was underfranked with 8 c. stamps and struck with "To Pay" postmarks in New York. Upon arrival in British Mandate Palestine, the cover was censored and hand-stamped with the local "To Pay 14mil" postmark, necessitating the affixing of additional postage due stamps and tied by the Mount Carmel 12 OCTOBER arrival circular date stamp (cds).(Image 1)
