COLLECTIONS, ACCUMULATIONS, AND STOCKS continued...

Lot Symbol Descrip Cat. Value or Suggested Bid (S.B.)
621 og/^ imageA rather messy but still valuable collection. It starts out with four copies of #2 and a Penny Black. A classic case of an ugly duckling lot that does not present well but has plenty of catalog value. There are some samples of watermark varieties of #58, some numeric cancellations as well as some shade varieties. This desperately needs TLC, organizing and remounting but if you take the time, you will be rewarded. 627 og/^ imageCollection in a Scott Specialty album to 1992 and black pages in a stock book, mixed mint and used. Earlies are a little spotty but there are some highlights among the Hermes heads, Olympic Games issues of 1906 and some very attractive sets later. BOB is well represented with semi-postals, airs, postage dues, postal tax and revenues. There are also issues from some of the islands like Crete and Lemnos. Many beautiful singles and sets here make this a desirable lot. Heligoland
Lot Symbol Descrip Cat. Value or Suggested Bid (S.B.)
630 og/^ imageA pair pf bankers boxes holding thousands of Heligoland stamps and postal stationery. Most of the stamps are undoubtedly reprints (often identified by type) or counterfeits but there are bound to be some genuine as well. A couple dozen or so full panes of probable reprints are here. Extensive postal cards and postal stationery, including part of an apparent exhibit, add to the interest. Finally, there is Heligoland literature to help separate the genuine from the reprints, including a very fine copy of Heligoland et ses timbres by J. B. Moens published in 1897. A fascinating lot that will appeal to a studious buyer. Lot Symbol Descrip Cat. Value or Suggested Bid (S.B.)
634 og/^ imageHandsome collection in a Scott Specialty album to 1979 and a few loose pages with BOB items. Earlies are strong, missing only a handful of issues mixed, mint and used with some CTO in later years. Most stamps are hinged with some in clear mounts. Regular issues are nearly complete for the timeframe. Semis and airs are also strong as are special delivery, dues and officials. Overall, this is a beautiful collection, is nearly complete for the timeframe and would not take much effort to get across the finish line. Please examine and enjoy. Next, is a Papkin binder with some nice earlies and is seriously in need of remounting. Third is a Scott Specialized album 1871 to 1958. Finally, is a Schaubek springback binder 1871 to 1959. All some better items to be in the mix. Could be broken down for resale. 636 og/^ imageThree overlapping collections. There are two Scott Specialty binders. One starts with the earlies and goes to about 1984. The second goes from 1974 to 1999. The earlies are used with mint starting to appear in the 1920s. Next there is a Minkus to 1970, mixed mint and used. There are some nice earlies with almost complete coverage of regular issues to the WWII timeframe. Significant value is in MNH souvenir sheets like the Franz Liszt sheet of 1934 and the Aleksander Pushkin 150th Anniversary of 1949, the latter in both perforated and imperf. Owner catalog is $3,565. There are many colorful, beautiful sets here making this worth a good look. 637 og/^ imageA falling apart International binder with useful values and sets. Earlies are somewhat lean but from the late 1950s to about 1986, the collection is well filled, mostly mint in mounts. Spot checking reveals most are never hinged. A fair number of imperf sets accompany the normal perforated ones. A good start if you have an appetite for a Hungary collection.
