1157 c imagePostcard and Photo Lot. One carton with over six hundred postcards and photos. Includes numerous posted and unposted RPPCs of people and places, pre-1930 and often from the U.S. Also includes RPPCs chronicling trips to Europe as well as to Africa and Asia; many are from the early twentieth century; with clear postmarks, addresses, and messages. There is a binder of around fifty Christmas- and New Year's-themed postcards and photos from 1940s Germany and Austria; several were posted by German soldiers to family back home and feature military mail cancels and auxiliary markings. The photos in this lot are various sizes and almost all black and white; most show foreign landscapes, people, and tourist sites, predominantly pre-1950s. They appear in focus, carefully composed, and memorable or unusual in some way. Finally there are some colorful large-format postcards and postcard-sized art prints along for the ride. Most items are sleeved or housed in protective pages; occasional wear and tear visible, but otherwise F-VF.
