580 c imageNew Orleans as Depicted in Postcards. An expert’s lifetime collection of over 1,100 posted and unposted cards mounted in archival plastic pages and housed in four binders. Mainly F-VF. Organized into categories such as the French Quarter and Market, Canal Street, St. Charles Avenue, Parks and Cemeteries, Riverboats, Levees, Mardi Gras, and Downtown buildings. The consignor estimates that the lot contains 50% private mailing or white border cards, 40% linen cards, and 10% chrome cards. Be sure to take note of the many postcards featuring early Black Americana subject matter.
