United States historical shipwreck cover. The Panamanian steamer Finance owned by the US government outward bound from Colón, Panama was in a collision with the White Star liner Georgic inward bound for New York, off Sandy Hook. The
Finance sank within ten minutes with the loss of four lives. Next day a tug picked up a single bag of mail. A label was applied stating “The piece of mail herewith was recovered from the wreck of steamer Finance which was sunk through collision with

WWII Covers. Large collection of patriotic covers and FDCs, primarily 1930s-1945. Approximately 2,300 covers featuring cachets by renowned artists and a variety of U.S. commemoratives and definitives. Also has a small pocket of
thematically related foreign material. Placed in protective pages or sleeves and housed in nineteen albums and one box. Mostly all-different and mainly F-VF, with some items exhibiting minor tears, scuffs, and smudges. We noticed plenty of clear
cancels and auxiliary markings in the blend of philatelic creations and personal and professional correspondence. The cachets are by designers such as Cos Art Covers, Porto Server, Pent Arts, Hobby House, D. Knapp, Fleetwood, and Art Craft and range
from humorous to celebratory or ceremonial. One of the largest lots of this type of material handled by us in recent years. (Image) (image002)
