cds with Mackay 25AP30 backstamp on reverse. Some aging/scuff marks and trace of central vertical crease. Unlisted by Eustis but the following announcement was printed in the Daily Mercury April 24th, the day of the flight! The Postmaster, Mr. L.
Powell, was (sic) advised yesterday that the monoplane Star of Townsville, which leaves Brisbane this morning for Townsville, will carry an aerial mail for Mackay and take mail matter from Mackay for the North. On the return trip the plane will
deliver mail from north and take a mail south. In order to secure delivery of letters per air mail in addition to the usual postage an aerial stamp must be affixed to the article posted. These stamps are now available at the post office at a cost of
3d. each. The aerial mail for north to-day will close at 11.30am. (Image 1)
