Flight (Nov 12) very fine example of the Ross Smith 'FIRST/AERIAL POST' vignette affixed and cancelled with central strike of 'FIRST AERIAL MAIL/RECEIVED/26FEB1920/GREAT BRITAIN TO AUSTRALIA' oval datestamp, with another largely
fine strike at the left, also lightly struck violet 'PER/VICKERS VIMY AEROPLANE/TO AUSTRALIA' cachet (40% of the covers received the three-line handstamp), an exhibition quality item. The enclosed letter from Lt Ransome of Emlin Hall
Torver Lancashire to Mrs Craig tells how he hopes he can get the pilot to accept this letter and that it will reach Australia. This cover has been with the addressee family since it was delivered. It has never been on the market until now. [This
