Phoenix Auctions Sale - 2195

Worldwide On-Line Auction - May 18-19, 2026

Welcome to Phoenix Auctions #2195, being held on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th May, both days starting at 10am. This will be our 5th Auction for 2026.
  • Session 1 (lots 4001-5534) Monday with Australia through to Tasmania.
  • Session 2 (lots 5535-7184) Tuesday with Victoria, WA and Territories and then Rest of World.
As usual there are many variety lots, particularly in the Roos and KGV Sideface issues, of particular note are a 10/- CofA pale aniline pink Specimen (lot 4112) and a 1d red KGV Line Perf pair on cover (lot 4131), as well as many rare FDCs, Coins, Revenues etc. There is a good range of Australian Colonies with a wide range of stamps, postal history and postmarks including a good range of highly rated Vic numerals. For First Flight collectors there is the rare 1935 Oroville Police Camp - Port Moresby flight which only carried 40 covers (lot 6431).

Rest of World collectors are always well catered for.

There are nearly 750 lots in this section and the General & Single Country sections of the auction, including stamps, Postal History, Stationery, etc, which ensure there is plenty to choose from. Of particular interest is a China Boxer-period Postal Card cancelled at every Tientsin PO (lot 6642), a marvellous 1959 Cuban Revolution “Swap Card” Album complete with 268 cards (lot 6659) and a lovely collection of French WWI Red Cross cinderellas (lot 6717). The wide variety of lots from many countries, including stamps, Postal History, Stationery, etc, which ensure there is plenty to choose from.

Notes:

  • Most collection & accumulation type lots have a reserve of 50% of the estimate.
  • The buyer's commission is just 22%.
  • New bidders need to be aware that, while there is no room bidding for these auctions, viewing, phone bidding and live internet bidding are still available. Lastly, live bidding will skip over lots without any form of bid, so please enter some sort of bid, even if it is just $1, to ensure that these lots appear during live bidding.
