From a NZ serviceman at Iwakuni airfield (NZ APO 333, BCOF). This cds used 24/3/46-8/2/48. Still with original letter (writer states of this FDC "They had only 12 available & I drew one". The NZ Peace stamps were specially flown from NZ to Japan for 1st day use by the occupation troops. Fine cond.

Franked NZ 1946 ½d - 1/- Peace set (1st day of issue). NZ A.P.O. 222 moved from Italy to Japan on H.M.T. "Strathmore" during Feb-March 1946. This cds used at Yamaguchi, Japan c29 March-30 May 1946 only. Supplies of the stamps were specially flown from NZ to Japan for 1st day use by the occupation troops. Fine.
