1502 C 1937 Coronation, group of 4 pictorial FDCs, each showing a diff coloured (British?) crown, & no text at all. The crowns appear to be printed rather than hand-drawn. Each cover franked 1937 Coronation set of 3 canc. Port Chalmers cds 13 MY 37, all to the same address: "Wallace, 4 Pierce Rd, Milford, Auckland". Unlisted by Jones. Possibly a private (non-commercial) production? Very fine. Ex Horrell.

1509 C 1940 printed (black) on cream generic type FDC with "First Day Cover" at top & 26 horiz parallel lines at left. Franked 1d Centennial canc Hastings cds 2 JA 40. Applied at left is "New Zealand/ Centennial/1840-1940" imperf printed adhesive label (black on white). Unlisted by Jones, but quite similar to C40.1C, rated 5 (very scarce) on scale of 7.
