Franked 1882 2d SSF canc very worn & illegible 1855-type obliterator (of Nelson), b/s fine 5-line A-type cds (Craddock Type 6) of Nelson 3 AP 84 (with index "C" at top, not mentioned by Craddock). This d/s known 1878-88. Repaired opening tear.

Many diff imprints, shades & paper colours. Many with part pmks. Noted 2 albino embossed impressions of GV ½d green envelope cutouts. How they collected 100+ years ago.

Loveday [facsimile of signature], Major, Comndg. 2nd Welln. Battn., M.R. [Mounted Rifles]." Wellington cds 13 FE 05. Fine & scarce. With photocopy of short biography of Major (later Colonel) Lambert William Loveday (1845-1916).
