The TOM FROMMER Gold Medal Collection of The AIRMAILS OF NEW CALEDONIA 1929 - 1941:
A much-admired single frame Exhibit which was awarded gold medals at Aeropex 2019, the Singapore Stamp World Championships, a "Diamond Medal" at the New Zealand National Championships and a "Ruby Medal" at the Victorian Championships. The collection, on the original Exhibit pages, follows the Australian Airmail Catalogue [1997] listing and includes one of about ten covers that survive of the attempted catapult mail from the French Cruiser 'Tourville' in July 1929 (AAMC.N1), the May 1931 Victor Roffey first airmail Noumea - Kone (AAMC.N7, 2 examples), 2 May 1931 Kone - Noumea and return by Roffey (AAMC. N9 & 10, several different examples), 12 May Noumea - Voh by Roffey (AAMC.N15), 16 May Noumea - Thio (N19), 21 May Noumea - Koumac (N21), 21 November 1931 Noumea - Brisbane (N41), and 14 Dec. Rockhampton - Brisbane - Sydney (N42a), 9 March 1932 Brisbane - Noumea by Verneilh (N44) and Paris - Noumea (N43), together with a souvenir postcard signed by the pilot, March 1939 Martinet flown covers (N55 & N56), July 1940 first Pan Am flights via Noumea, 2 April 1941 Sydney - Noumea by C.R.
