AGRICULTURE & TRAVEL?: An illustrated postcard issued by WINCHCOMBE, CARSON & Co. Ltd., Sydney, (wool brokers, stock and
station agents) depicting a family of rabbits at a "First Class" ticket office, dated 1909, with the additional information "Passengers booked last year - 41,629,672"; the scene overlooked by a koala and the ticket agent a
kangaroo. Printed message verso. What's going on here? Was the company also involved in travel, or is this a card celebrating the number of rabbits "dispatched" during the height of the rabbit plague? The only example known to us. (Image 1)
