ADVERTISING ENVELOPE: 1894 (Stieg: KB15) 1d Orange-Brown PTPO Envelope for Bear's Patent Advertising Booklet, with 32pp advertising booklet enclosed; the envelope in very good condition, the booklet in very fine condition, unused. The featured advertising is for wine, whisky, Georges Emporium, Allen & Co Musical Instruments, Wertheim Dewing Machines, Warner's Safe Cure Pills, etc.

A remarkable postal stationery item in which a crescent-shape slit was cut from the face of the envelope. When the booklet was inserted this opening allowed the embossing to impress upon the folded pages of the booklet within. Therefore the envelope could not be used without the inserted booklet. Advertisers found the scheme attractive as they only paid half-price for the envelopes, after paying for their adverts.

CARRUM: 1895 use of 1d Postal Card to Sydney with clear strike of unframed 'CARRUM/JA28/95' (WWW.10) datestamp in red, coloured datestamps unrecorded for this type, Rated 2R (in black). 

An accumulation of various issues on piece with values to £1; mostly with 1880s to early 1900s dated pen and handstamp cancellations. (qty).

Cat $15,000 and extremely scarce in any condition!

1902-12 Melbourne printing Postcard (with border) 1d Blue (Juhl PC 7), with illustrated 'American Dunlop Tyres' advertising on reverse. Neither Juhl nor Pope & Thomas make mention of advertising cards, Unused.
