Cover with corners clipped for fumigation due to cholera epidemic and bearing Hawaii 1893, 5¢ ultramarine (59) corner selvage, 12¢ black, red overprint (62) and 50¢ red, black overprint (72), tied by red four-ring targets, matching "Honolulu, Hawaii, Sep 18, 1895" cds, "A.R." and Registered R handstamps, purple San Francisco (10.9) and New York (10.15) transit backstamps, New York registry label (NY-FX1a) affixed, Ulm (10.26) arrival backstamp, Very Fine and colorful Hawaii three-color registered use.

The 1895 Cholera epidemic quarantined Honolulu from August 20, 1895 to October 23, 1895 and mail was fumigated before it could be put aboard a ship bound for another port.
