Jesse H. Swart purchased Almy's Oakland and San Francisco Express in May 1854 and ran a daily express service over the same route. By steamer he went between San Francisco and Oakland. From Oakland, he ran south to San Jose and north to Martinez. He had stops at Clinton, Alameda, Union City, and San Pablo. It is believed that he connected with Adams & Co at San Francisco.
